UGC NET COACHING

UGC NET stands for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test. It is a national-level exam conducted in India to determine eligibility for the role of Assistant Professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for conducting the UGC NET exam on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

UGC NET covers various subjects across humanities, social sciences, commerce, computer science, environmental sciences, and more. The subjects are categorized under different papers, such as Paper-I (General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude) and Paper-II (Subject-specific).

The eligibility criteria include a Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for reserved categories), or appearing in the final year of the Master’s degree. Age criteria vary for Assistant Professor and JRF positions.

UGC NET is typically conducted twice a year, usually in June and December.

UGC NET consists of two papers – Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is common for all candidates and consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. Paper-II consists of 100 multiple-choice questions based on the subject chosen by the candidate.

The UGC NET eligibility certificate for Assistant Professor is valid for a lifetime. However, the JRF eligibility certificate is valid for three years, with the possibility of extension upon fulfilling certain criteria.

Candidates can prepare for UGC NET by thoroughly studying the syllabus, practicing previous years’ question papers, taking mock tests, and referring to standard study materials and reference books. Coaching institutes and online resources can also be helpful in preparation.
